Sillah Tournament Begins at ATS Today

The Kasumu Sillah Foundation 3rd Annual Tournament is expected to
begin today with four of the nations best clubs clashing at the ATS.
According to the organizers of the tourney, the tournament is in honor
of the District # 5 representative-elect Edwin Melvin Snowe and
Justice Minister Kabineh Mohammed Ja’neh for their valuable services
towards the peace building process of this country.
The tournament will bring together four of the nation’s club teams
including the former Lone Star players, the National Under-17 team,
newly promoted premier team Black Star and Gedeh & Shoes FC.
The first four teams will be battling for a grand trophy that will be
presented at the end of the tournament, which is a round-robin affair.
The team with the highest points will carry the trophy.
Players that are expected to make up the former Lone Star players
squad include Ambassador George Manneh Weah, Liberia’s Most Celebrated
star, James Salinsa Debbah, Jonathan Sogbie and Washington Blay.
Others are Lucretius Togba, William Gray, Frank Seton, and Edwin
Morgan, while Hazel Gray, Pewee Bestman, Friday Roberts and Johnny
Sumo, Kasumu Sillah and Thomas Freeman will be on the stand by to
cause the damage.
According to the fixture of the tournament in today’s encounters,
Invincible Eleven (IE) will face LISCR FC in the first match, while
ever-improving Mighty Barrolle will rub shoulders with the LFA
champion club, LPRC Oilers in the day’s final match.
On tomorrow, the LFA Champion will knock boots with Invincible Eleven
in a match that is expected to see real ball control in the first
match of the day, while LISCR will meet Mighty Barrolle in a match
that is expected to be full of fireworks.
On Saturday, December 23, the Oldtime Lone Star players will play the
national Under-17 team in the first match, while LISCR will lock horns
with LPRC Oilers in the day’s final match.
Sunday which is the tournament’s final day will see newly promoted
premier team, Black Star knocking boots with Gedi & Shoes FC, while
the nation’s oldest clubs, IE and Barrolle will clash in the second
match.
The last match is expected to set the minds of fans to the 80s.
