John Moses Eyes Lone Star
By Julu M. Johnson, Jr.
The Liberian international striker John Moses is wishing for a call
to play for the national soccer team of Liberia, Lone Star.
In an E-mail sent from his base in Hungary, the player is calling on
the Liberia Football Association (LFA) and the Ministry of Youth and
Sports that he would welcome their call if they think of making him
part of the squad for the ongoing 2008 African Cup of Nations
qualifiers.
According to Moses, he is presently and still playing actively with
his club, "Kistarcsa PFK" after playing previously with other clubs
there.
“I was very much disappointed when I was called up for the just
ended World Cup qualifiers against Senegal in Liberia, and I did not
have the chance to prove to the fans of what I'm capable of doing in
my scoring ability,” Moses stated.
The veteran striker added, “I believe with more than 10 years of
playing in European and strong Cameroonian competitions, there have
been a lot of improvements when it comes on the line of scoring
goals.”
The former Mighty Barrolle and FDA Forester hitman called upon the
football house to give him another chance to prove to those who
might have doubts.
“I've still got my speed and other encouraging abilities to show to
the nation,” Moses defended himself.
He personally extended his heartfelt thanks and appreciations to the
entire Lone Star squads for making a big comeback by defeating
Rwanda recently.
Moses specially thanked the President of the Republic of Liberia,
Mrs. Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf for the big boost she gave to the squad
by showing her concern, most especially when she took time off her
busy schedule to attend the encounter.
“A big thanks go also to the football authorities for thinking big
by including Kelvin (Sebwe), (Oliver) Makor, (Francis) Grand Pa Doe
and others.
“I must state that with the appearances of foreign-based players for
Lone Star in every encounter, there must be a winning spirit among
the team.”
