John Menyongar Scores Crucial Goal

Liberia’s John Menyongar scored a crucial goal against his former club on Saturday in the United Soccer League.

Menyongar scored the winner as the Rochester Raging Rhinos beat the Minnesota Thunder 1-0. The Liberian scored from a penalty kick in the 53rd minute of the match.


The win assured Rochester of a first round bye in the USL first division playoffs.

Another Liberian Leo Gibson led the Thunder offensively with five shots on goal. The defeat has ended the Thunder’s hope of a place in the playoffs.
