By Julu M. Johnson, Jr.

June 15, 2004-The contract of Lone Star central defender Jimmy Dixon nearly faced a ruin last week. But, thank God he was on national team duty.

The Swedish based player was reportedly involved in a motor accidence last Wednesday.
Family sources indicated that the vehicle the player was driving knocked down an elderly man who later died.

They stated that had it not been for the intervention of Dixon's older brother, the player who has been languishing in jail by now while awaiting prosecution.

According to them, Dixon's older brother, whose name was not disclosed, was quick to have brought the situation under control.

They mentioned that the fellow agreed to shoulder the funeral and burial costs of the dead man while Dixon was allowed to return to Sweden.

He was at the time in Monrovia to feature for the Liberian National Team Lone Star, which played the Eagles of Mali on June 6, 2004 in Monrovia and won 1-0.

The player has already left the country while his family is said to be handling the matter.
