Jericho Releases Final Lone Star Squad

Despite huge criticism from the public, the final list of players has been selected by the technical staff of the national soccer team of Liberia, the Lone Star ahead of the match against Equatorial Guinea.

The weekend match is the beginning of the 2008 Nations Cup qualifiers, with the finals scheduled for Ghana.

The technical staff of the Lone Star, headed by Frank Jericho Nagbe, named a 20-man squad on Thursday.

The team comprises 17 local players and 3 foreign-based players, one each from South Africa, Switzerland and Indonesia.

Apart from the 20-man squad, eight officials will form part of the delegation that will leave the country on Friday, September 1, 2006.
Kelvin Sebwe and Francis Grand Pa Doe, both playing in Greece, have pulled out, whereas the Indonesia-based quartet of Murphy Nagbe, Steve Mennoh, Perry Kollie and Eisaiah Benson have also withdrawn from the team.

They have been replaced by local players by the Lone Star leadership.
