James Salinsa Debah, Why The Disgrace?
Liberia captain James Debbah
Football is the World’s most popular sport – at such, those who play this globally entertaining game must do so with high degree of discipline, sportsmanship and subscribe to its golden rules.

Soccer players are required to at all times approach the game of football with a very high level of discipline which will eventually be comminuted into success of the individual or his team.

Secondly, discipline would lead to satisfying the increasing entertaining desire of the general football world which includes the spectators and the various football Federations.

To go contrary to the laws laid down to be followed by footballers is synonymous to rebelling against one’s own team or country.

And so the recent action by James "Salinsa" Debah who defiantly refused to adhere to a substitution call made to him during the Liberia/Togo joint African Nations and World Cups qualifier played at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex is an act of indiscipline that must be condemned and punished by Liberian soccer lovers.

For a man such as Salinsa, an internationally exclaimed Star, no one would have ever dreamed of the Liberian Celebrated Star refusing to honor the request of the technical staff of his country’s national team in the face of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Federation of International Football (FIFA) match officials as well as his home fans.

Salinsa’s action is truly alien to modern football from which he has benefited enormously.

Substitution of players, during the game of football is a normal routine for Technical Administrators of every football team, even very good soccer players and goal-scorers, are often substituted by their Technical Mangers for professional reasons and based on scientific studies of the game.

Without any personal protestation, substations are regularly made in football matches the world over.

For a man who commands a recognizable respect from many soccer fans at home and abroad to have disgracefully treated the Lone Star Technical Team and the Liberian spectators with disdain during an international football encounter is not only an act of indiscipline, but a conspicuous mark of shame brought on the Liberian people in front of hundreds of visitors by this highly controversial figure.

Truly, the attitude exhibited by James Salinsa Debah in front of these strangers is a big disgrace and a shame to the entire Liberian nation.

Debah who is at the verge of retirement from the game of soccer should by now be establishing himself truly as a role model by demonstrating high degree of respect and obedience not only for soccer officers of Liberia but his fellow compatriots.
