Dioh Williams Called for 1st Cap with the LoneStars

Liberian celebrated star James Salinsa Debbah has been recalled to the national team Lone Star.   Debbah, a veteran of Liberian soccer, was called back to the team to add maturity to the Lone Star that is already preparing to face the Eagles of Mali on June 6 in Monrovia in the 2006 World Cup and Nations Cup qualifiers.

Debbah, who is currently visiting Monrovia, has not played for the Lone Star since the former government of Charles Taylor declared the national team dissolved as a result of the its  dismal performance at the 2002 African Nations Cup in Mali.

Since then, Debbah and the rest of the "Old Order" that also includes George Weah, Joe Nagbe and Kelvin Sebwe have yet to wear the red, white and blue colors.

Debbah, who played in France, Belgium, Turkey and Greece before moving to the UAE, is part of three players that were lately called to the Lone Star for the battle with Mali.

The other two are striker Prince Daye of Spanish division two side Deportivo Badajoz and Dulee Johnson of BK Hacken of Sweden.

With the inclusion of Debbah, Daye Johnson, the number of foreign based players for the match has stretched to nine.

Earlier, the Liberia Football Association (LFA) disclosed the selection of six players from abroad for the match. They were Zizi Roberts of the US Major League side Colorado Rapids, Dioh Williams, who also plays for BK Hacken in Sweden, Oliver Makor, George Gebro, who both play in Greece, Alvin Kie, who plies his trade in Cyprus and the Indian based Sunday Seah.

Meanwhile, Sunday Seah, a goalkeeper who manned the post against Gambia, has arrived in Monrovia for the match. The former Junior Professionals and St. Anthony goal tender was preferred instead of the more experienced Louis Crayton who has now moved to Swiss top side FC Basel.

It was gathered that the national coach Kadallah Kromah chose Seah because "he is lucky with the team".

At the same time, soccer connoisseurs have suggested that more players be included on the team. They are yearning that Jimmy Dixon , defender in Sweden, Chris Gbandi of the US Major League club Dallas Burn and Anthony Langford of Obuasi Goldfields in Ghana be added to the list of foreign based players.
