For
Lone Star Matches:
JB Seton Wants Coaches Select "In-Form" Players

Monrovia

Liberia's Malaysia-based winger-cum-striker, Josiah JB
Seton wants Lone Star technical staff select both local and
foreign-based players who are in-form for the Ethiopia match slated
for June 6-8, 2003 in Monrovia.
He said if the coaches do this, the prospects of the
Lone Star qualifying for the 2004 Nations Cup finals is high. "Players
who are selected on national duty are due to their current forms and
not past forms. I am confident that coach Kromah and staff will do
their best in selecting players for the remaining matches."
The former Invincible Eleven (IE) life-wire made the assertion in a
chat with our sports desk yesterday when he spoke on wide range of
issues affecting the Lone Star.
Commenting further, the speedy winger-cum-striker said there are lots
of Liberian players who are making headway abroad who could be
utilized on the Lone Star, but pointed out that their selection should
be based on current form.
Quizzed whether his statement wont' be misconstrued as blowing his own
trumpet, the prolific goal-getter said he does have to do that because
he is no stranger to Liberians when it to performance. "My records are
clear in Liberia. I am only suggesting as a patriotic Liberian player
who wants to see his country excel," he added.
Meanwhile, player Seton has welcomed the decision by utility player
Zizi Roberts to return to the Lone Star following a year and few
months absence.
He said Zizi is a dependable player who the Lone Star will need so
much in the remaining qualifying matches, and up to the finals itself
in Tunisia next year.
"The return of Zizi is a boast to the Lone Star. He is a very good
player who plays in several positions based on the coaches strategies
in a given match," he said.
The Malaysia-based winger-cum-striker has therefore urged the likes of
Oliver Makor, Kelvin Sebwe, Fallah Johnson, among others to return to
team so that Lone Star can take its rightful place.
JB Seton was selected on the Lone Star during the tenure of Wilfred
Lardner, Manneh Peters and George Weah as Lone Star coaches. Despite
calls by football pundits to have him called to duty by coach Kromah
has fallen through.
Prior to going professional, he clinched the MVP title once and
Highest Scorer twice in the LFA league.
