For
Ethiopia Match:
JB Seton Named To Replace Zizi
-As Player Suffers Injury

May 27,2003
With about 13 days to the crucial match involving
the National Football Team, the Lone Star and their Ethiopian
counterparts, the technical staff of the Lone Star has named Josiah B.
Seton as replacement for Zizi Roberts.
According to coach Kadalah Kromah, player Roberts sustained an injury
that will render him unfit for the match. He said JB Seton has been
selected to replace Zizi for the match.
Zizi was among the 14 players selected for the match against Ethiopia.
Zizi is a utility player who can play in many positions.
The replacement for Zizi is also gifted and can play several
positions in midfield and attack except for the defense.
JB Seton is currently plying his soccer trade in the Malaysian Premier
League, where he has scored 7 goals in 12 games thus far. He could
have increased his goal tally had injury not sidelined him for about a
month.
JB Seton is no stranger to Liberians, evidenced by the enviable record
he set by clinching highest scorer title twice in the LFA League and
winning MVP title as well.
In the three international matches JB Seton played for the U-20 and
U-23 teams against The Gambia and Sierra Leone respectively, the
player scored three goals. He scored one goal each in The Gambia and
Freetown respectively and also scored one in Liberia.
“The decision to include JB Seton on the list is no mistake as the
player is capable of delivering the
goods,” a fan said yesterday at the ATS during Lone Star training.
Meanwhile, coach Kromah said he is still counting on sports
authorities to ensure that the foreign-based players selected for
match are brought in.
About 14 foreign-based players have been selected for the match. They
include Alvin Kie, Prince Daye, Kelvin Sebwe, Oliver Makor, Bill
Neewray, Dulee Johnson, Dioh Williams, Jimmy Dixon, George Gebro,
Edward Zico Dixon, Larmin Ousman, Ben Tiklo, Frank Seator and now
Josiah B. Seton.
According to sports officials, the list will be adjusted based
on Government’s financial strength.
There are unconfirmed reports that the Government will be in the
position to bring in at least 10
foreign-based players for the match.
