Keeps Hopes Alive

Counsellor Sombo Izetta Wesley has kept her hopes of winning a
four-year term at helm of Liberian football alive.
Speaking over the weekend, the President of the Liberia Football
Association (LFA) lauded those she described as men and women of
Congress for being steadfast during the campaign period.
Seen as the leading candidate among the duo vying for the LFA
leadership, Cllr. Wesley pointed out that she did not have to wait for
elections before going to the counties.
According to her, over the years, she has had a good rapport with the
LFA branches in the counties.
Relative to the ongoing campaign activities, Cllr. Wesley revealed
that she has been meeting stakeholders of Liberian football and
explaining to them about football development, which seems to be her
major goal if elected next month.
She pledged to continue what has been started. This, she stated,
includes the sponsorship deal with the South Africa Football
Association (SAFA) and the purchase of a land in Careysburg for the
construction of a soccer academy.
With peace in sight, Cllr. Wesley is confident that her leadership
would carry football to higher heights.
