In Debbah's Absence
IE Scores Record Victory over Barrolle

By F. Momolu Dorley

Former Invincible Eleven (IE) players displayed pace and skills by pulling the triggers eight times to hand archrival Mighty Barrolle record 8-1 defeat at the refurbished Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports complex on New Year's Day.

George Weah, Champ Weah and Jonathan “Boye Charles” Sogbie were hit men of a spirited IE side that dominated proceedings.

As the game wore on, discerning Barrolle's fans, albeit disappointed attributed their misery to the absence of Barrolle record goals scorer and Liberia's most celebrated star, James Salinsa Debbah.

The New Year's Day derby was part of an “All Liberian Peace Festival” which was aimed at promoting Liberia's cultural values and also uniting the citizenry.

After having a blissful spell in the first half, soccer icon Weah, who scored in the game sounded with confidence, when he said he doesn't expect Barrolle to beat IE.

The football ambassador, Weah urged Liberians to forge ahead, citing that in union strong success is sure.
