Shoes FC Sunday won a Special Tourney organized by the Liberian Sports Committee based at the Buduburam Refugee Camp in Ghana.

The Refugee Camp most acclaimed club whipped rival side Professional FC 2-1 in a match that was characterized by a tremendous display of skills, rare tempers and admired refereeing.

Buster Browne of Professional Club failed to give his side the lead in the 7th minute as he shut wide from close range with only the goalkeeper to beat.

Shoes FC Wisseh Walker could have broken the impasse again from the run of play on 17 minute, but his poor finish on an Isaiah Benson hub in the six-yard box went round the near post.

Enjoying most of the possession in the first half, Professional FC proved less dangerous in their attacking build-up and paid hugely for a sloppy goalkeeping error deep into the first half.

Francis Doe brilliance from a tangential angle on the far left flank of the pitch put Shoes FC in front on the half hour mark.

The flexible striker saw goalie Paul Mulbah off his line, swerved and lobbed a tricky shot from in the inside of his right foot that went dipping into the net.

Shoes FC grew in confidence after the lead dictating the tempo of the match for the rest of the half, preventing their opponents from settling down.

Offensive left back, Robert Davis then doubled the lead a few minutes later from the edge of the penalty area with a powerful strike.

The sturdy defender controlled a cut back from Francis Doe with his right foot and rifled through a forest of legs with the left foot, thus consolidating their lead.

Frank Taylor of Professional Club had a goal disallowed early in the second half, as he was adjudged offside by lines-man. The pocket-sized striker thumped the offside trap, but the whistle went before the ball hit the net.

For much of the second half, both teams came close to scoring, but Aaron Cole and Anthony Doe wasted the clearest of opportunities in the penalty box.

The Shoes FC roving attacker Aaron Cole produced a weak angle drive from a Francis Doe defense splitting pass, while Anthony Doe failed to tap in a Veto Sawyer grounder just few meters from away.

Pro FC got their consolation from a penalty kick after Tubman Johnson handled the ball in the penalty area.

Nimble-witted Eddie completed a perfect kick in the roof of the right post, but the effort was insufficient and didn’t threaten the victory.
