IE Veterans
Oppose New Leadership

IE President Madison
Tukpah
By Julu M. Johnson, Jr.
Some former players of Incincible Eleven (IE) are opposed to the
recent appointment of a new leadership, headed by Mr. Madison Tukpah.
Under the name of Former IE Players Association, the group stated
that the new board, headed by Mr. Ben Turtur Donnie, is not
recognized by them and that they have no representative there. They
claimed that the decision to appointment both a new board and
leadership was done without their input.
The former IE players making the contentions are headed by former
goalkeeper Isaac Teah, who is their choice for President. They held
a major meeting on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 and it was graced by
other former players including James Bannerman, Sam Marshall, Alex
Blamo, Thomas Freeman, Sam Chebli, Edward Morgan, Alexander Freeman
and Raymond Morton.
They made known their intention of taking over the leadership of IE
with the backing of supporters of the Sunshine Yellow Boys such as
George Oppong Weah, Simeon Mattor and Anthony Gray in the United
States.
The IE veterans have vowed to engage other auxiliary groups like the
Concerned Few and all stakeholders in an effort to achieve their
objective.
According to the former IE players, they were already in the process
of taking over the team’s leadership before the new management was
put into place.
They boast of having a structure to move IE from where it is to a
greater height.
The former IE players labeled previous leaders as failures, arguing
that they don’t want the younger ones to be fooled.
They called on those former leaders with genuine interest to get on
board and assist them.
The IE veterans noted that they are serious about moving IE forward.
