IE Bows To Zelor

By Julu M. Johnson, Jr.

Invincible Eleven (IE) on Sunday fell by 2-0 against Zelor in the first division of the 2006 Liberia Football Association (LFA) National League.

The match, played in Unification Town, Margibi County, saw IE missing a penalty before Zelor, founded by the late Youth and Sport Minister Francois Massaquoi, struck in both goals.

The Yellow Boys were later to be reduced to nine men after two of their players were red-carded.

IE drew its first league match with Alliance FC 1-1 on Wednesday, March 15 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS).

Also in Unification Town, Gedi and Sons dumped the Barracks Young Controllers (BYC) 1-0 to get six points.

At the ATS, Pro-Anchors Sisters massacred Shooters 16-0, while Alliance threw away a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with visiting Bassa Defenders.
