The division two side Karn United has confirmed the departure of two of its key players.

The club said George Boe, a midfielder, and defender Bill Paytoe have finally joined Invincible (IE) of the premier league.

According to the Karn United, it could no longer maintain the duo in the second division as a result of their persistent desire to join IE. The club said it decided long ago not to hold on to the players after the two requested for transfer, but IE's inability to afford the transfer fees was the reason behind the delay in their departure.

"As a result of IE's failure to pay for the two players, we decided to allow George Boe to go free of charge," the club's owner Samuel Karn revealed.

He mentioned that his team decided to abandon pressing for transfer fees based on pleas from some officials and supporters of the Yellow Boys who were impatiently waiting for the day George Boe would become their property.

Mr. Karn also said the manner in which the transfer saga was being interpreted in football circle disturbed to let the player go.

However, the Karn United said it has received L$15,000.00 from IE for the transfer of rising defensive star Bill Paytoe.

Paytoe, already a member of the national soccer team Lone Star, was voted Best Defender in the 2004 National County Meet in soccer. He captained Gbarpolu County, which won all of its matches, to lift the soccer trophy.
