Oilers striker misses goals

IE,
Oilers Disappoint Fans
Draw 0-0 on a Dull Note
Thousands of fans and supporters who thronged the Antoinette Tubman Stadium
today to cheer Invincible Eleven and LPRC-Oilers to victory were left very
disappointed by both teams dismal outing.
IE, wearing their customary yellow and blue strips, played without most of
their original players from last season. IE attack was wanting, but their
defense was crack, thanks to extra marking by Walter Morgan and Fallah Lahai.
First choice IE Goalkeeper Latee Jackson made several brilliant saves.
Oilers, in red and white jersey instead of their regular gold and black
colors, were outstanding in every department except that the attackers
appeared sluggish and lacked scoring instinct. Morris Dogood missed four
goals for Oilers in the first half and three in the second.
The frustration of not scoring, apparently overwhelmed Oilers, so much that
striker Samuel Goi punched an IE defender during the second half. Ref
Idrissa Kaba wasted no time in giving Goi the marching orders.
The game ended 0-0 on a bland note.
Meanwhile, Defense Invaders and ROZA FC played to a goalless draw yesterday
at the National Port Authority stadium in Bushrod Island.
