Government Provided Funding For Lone Star

The Sports Ministry says it has received funding for the Lone Star African Cup of Nations qualifier this weekend.

The Assistant Minister for Sports at the Ministry of Youth &Sports

told Star Radio the Finance Ministry made the money available on Monday.

Assistant Minister Murphy Gray said they have already started

working with authorities at the Liberia Football Association to settle financial obligations for the game.

The Liberia Football Association requested 53 Thousand United States Dollars for the home match.

Government has also been indebted to coaches and local players of the Lone Star.

The Assistant Sports Minister disclosed that a month and the half salaries were paid to members of the technical staff.

He said the 50 United States Dollars that were promised local players before the Equatorial Guinea match have also been disbursed.

Assistant Minister Gray also disclosed that reimbursement for
professional players were ready and that they would get the money once they arrived in the country.


The players will have to present their ticket stocks to football authorities.
