German coach signs for Lone Star





German coach Antoine Hey has signed a one-year contract to take over the national team, the Lone Star.

Antoine Hey signed the one-year renewable deal with the Liberia Football Association Friday.

Under the agreement the German is to help qualify Liberia for the 2010 world cup and African cup of nations.

The German was given three months salary advance during the signing ceremony.

Hey was paid thirty thousand United States Dollars for three months because his monthly salary is ten thousand dollars.

Deputy Sports Minister Marbue Richards told Star Radio, government would do everything to live up to its part of the agreement.

Minister Richards said government would also provide housing and transportation for the coach.

He said the German has been asked to bring in his own deputy coach but did not say whether it will be a Liberian or not.

Minister Richards said government has accepted and would fund a friendly recommended by Antoine Hey against Sudan on March 26.
