Patrick Garwo’s Gedi and Sons on Thursday, June
12, 2009 scored the highest goal and destroyed fellow premier
outfit, Jubilee FC 7-2 at the Nancy Doe Stadium in Kakata, Margibi
County to make significant climb at the top of the Liberia Football
Association (LFA) 18 teams’ premier log.
Clinical striker Teku Nahn scored the second
hat-track of the season to make him joint second top goal scorer
with nine goals.
The win gave the youthful LFA premier outfit 19
points from 15 matches and ninth place on the 18 teams’ LFA
premiership table.
The kids are now in high spirit to face Mighty
Barrolle this Sunday in Buchanan City, Grand Bassa County.
There are reports that the kids have been
motivated by their president Mr. Patrick Garwo who resides in the
United States of America (USA).
“Mr. Garwo has promised us huge bonuses if we
thrash out Mighty Barrolle this Sunday and we are now in high spirit
for the match,” one player noted in a rather positive mood.
Gedi operation manager Mr. Patrick Gborie has
also hailed the player for the vital win and also promise extra
bonus for the Mighty Barrolle match if his player pull an upset.
Meanwhile, sensational and always sensational
LPRC Oilers is close to setting record as the only team in the
history of Liberian football to go unbeaten in the entire first
phase after the gold and black outfit thrashed newly promoted
premier outfit Adorence FC 2-0 at the Antoinette Tubman (ATS) in
Monrovia.
Longest serving versatile player Augustine
Flomo opened the score line in the first stanza before fantastic lad
William Jerbo scored the final goal to see the Gabriel Johns’ guided
side maintained top spot of the LFA premiership table with 42 points
from 16 matches.
The oil boys now have flop LISCR FC to battle
in the last match of the first phase in an attempt to set the record
straight.
