Gedi &Sons FC has secured qualification to the premier league of the
Liberia Football Association.
A 1-0 win over struggling Alliance FC ensured the club’s
qualification. Gedi& Sons has 23 points and their last game against
Mighty Blue Angels
would determine whether they would finished as first division
champions. Gedi recorded the win on Saturday at the Antoinette
Tubman Stadium.
In what should have been Saturday’s last game, Mark Pro failed to
show up. Black Star FC received the maximum three points without
kicking the ball. On Sunday, league matches were played in Kakata
and Monrovia. Watanga FC upset title contender LISCR FC 2-1 at the
Nancy Doe Stadium in Kakata. Pea Brown scored both goals for
Watanga.
The win has resurrected the team’s hope of retaining a place in the
premier league. Defending female league champions Tito United scored
an overwhelming 10-
0 victory over Queens FC at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium. In the
second game, Olympic Conquerors whipped Diamond FC 2 goals to 1. The
game was a second division action.
