Miss Gbour Wilson has been elected and subsequently inducted into office as president of the Liberia Basketball Federation. Miss Wilson was elected on a white ballot. She is a former basketball, star and took over two years ago to complete the term of former President Philibert Brown.

Gbour Wilson is the first female to be elected president of the Basketball Federation since its formation.

In a chat with journalists after her induction, Miss Wilson spoke of plans to embark on the building of new basketball gymnasiums in the country.

Miss Wilson said the building of gyms around the country would encourage young athletes to play the sport.

Meanwhile, the former president of the Liberia Basketball Federation has described the association’s electoral process as credible.

Mr.Philbert Brown told reporters any organization that holds an election on white ballots means the members have the confidence in individuals contesting for elective positions.

Mr. Brown hoped that the LBF would continue to grow in strength. He wished the new administration success and promised to continue his moral and financial support to basketball.
