Garmondeh Dupes Barrolle of US$ 35,000.00?

What could be described as disheartening as far as the growth of Mighty Barrolle, and infact Liberian football is concerned has come to the fore with the news of Executive Committee member of the Liberia Football Association (LFA), and president of Mighty Barrolle, Garmondeh Karnga duping the club of US$ 35,000.00 which amounts to the transfer fee of player Amadaiya Rennie to Swedish top flight side IF Elfsborg.

According to document in the possession of liberiansoccer.com, dated November 16, 2009, an official of the club, Jan Mak in a communication to LFA acting chief scribe Sam Bedford indicated, "hereby acknowledge receipt of your e-mail message to the Swedish Football Association, Gen. Secretary Mr. Hellstromer regarding payment for Amadaiya Rennie". The communication further noted that the club IF Elsborg have an agreement with Mighty Barrolle on the transfer of the player.

"Furthermore, information development and inquiry about the payment of the agreed amount has been through Mighty Barrolle's president Garmondeh Karnga", the communication further stated. It was also revealed that "after data from the club who have indicated that US$ 35,000.00 would be transferred to the club's account in Liberia by bank transfer. City bank n.a .New York- Ecobank Liberia Limited Account No: 36147565 Beneficiary-Missions Director WWML (meaning World Wide Missions Liberia). Account No:12710004142015". It was noted.

This has raised eyebrows in many quarters as to why Mr. Karnga, a prelate, would go such route in providing the account number of the WWML, an institution owned by his father, Dr. Albert Karnga for Barrolle's money to be sent there. It is quite an irony that the Rollers are suffering in the midst of such a huge amount as the players go unpaid for months, the club is poorly organized as Garmondeh runs a "one-man show" and there is no accountability, thus perpetuating himself into power to the detriment of the club's growth.

To divert the club's money into another account that has no relations to that of Mighty Barrolle has being described as something worrisome from a Mighty Barrolle perspective with many calling for the Rollers boss to provide clarity on the issue. Others are of the view that this was something similar that transpired in the deal involving Alex Nimely's to English club Manchester City. "Normally, when a player is transferred and the fees are received, the president must call a meeting to brief officials and in fact, for the sake of transparency, it should be in the press",some die-hard followers of the Red Boys told liberiansoccer.com. They accused Mr. Karnga of usurping the functions of the club and are demanding answers from him this time round.

All efforts to contact the embattled president Garmondeh Karnga and LFA acting chief scribe Sam Polay Bedford proved furtile as their mobile phones rang endlessly. However, our investigation continues.
