Boakye IsaacAs the hours tick away before the U-23 teams of Liberia and Ghana battle in the 2004 Olympic Qualifiers, the Black Meteors of Ghana have re-assembled 15 players at the Hospitality Center in Tema, outside Accra.

Asante Kotoko dire striker, Isaac Boakye who hasn’t lost penchant of doing the outrageous against any Liberian side leads the list of players recalled to camp.

Boakye who was responsible for Asante Kotoko narrow escape to the next stage of the 2003 African Cup Winners Cup against Mount Cameroon last Sunday, scored the goal that halted Liberia’s 2002 World Cup Qualification in Monrovia.

Others first-rate players in camp include Isaac Amoako (Goldfields), George Owu, Issah Ahmed, Michael Emba Osei (Asante Kotoko), Emmanuel Papoe, Asamoah Gyan, Emmanuel Frimpong (Liberty Professional), Dan Cole and Bernard Don Bortey (Hearts of Oak).
The rest of the players are Alex Agyepong (Stay Cool Professionals), Patrick Antwi (Mine Stars), Joe Tagoe (Great Olympics), Laud Asare and Ampimah Barusso (Nania FC).

The Black Meteors’ German Coach, Burkhard Ziese that seems clear-headed over the Liberians has earlier recalled Ghana’s most celebrated player, Charles Taylor to the team a few weeks ago.

The first leg comes on in Monrovia on June 15 to be subsequent by a return leg on June 29 in Accra.
