IE Veep Wants LFA Scribe Out

Members Of LFA at the last Congress
March 21, 2003
A former Vice President of the Invincible
Eleven Majestic Football team, Edward Forson is calling for the
dismissal of the General Secretary (Chief Scribe) of the Liberia
Football Association (LFA).
Mr. Forson, who is a former stakeholder of the
LFA, said the entire secretariat of the football house should be
restructured including the removal of the Secretary General, Yanqueh
S. Borsay.
In an interview recently, Mr. Forson accused the Chief
Scribe of violating the statute of the local football house and lack
the technical know how to head the Secretariat of the LFA.
The outspoken sportsman said Mr. Borsay recently
suspended Congress unilateral. "The Chief Scribe of the football house
does not have the authority to postpone congress. This is against the
statute and as such, Mr. Borsay should be replaced," Mr. Forson noted.
When quizzed as to what evidence he has on the Chief Scribe's alleged
unilateral decision, Mr. Forson said there is a circular under the
Chief Scribe's signature which announced the postponement of the
congress. What Forson failed to realize is that the Chief Scribe runs
the LFA and signs communications emanating from the Executive
Committee of the LFA.
When Chief Scribe Borsay was contacted on why Congress was not held as
agreed by the last Congress held in Kakata, Mr. Borsay said the
failure of the clubs to register for the forthcoming league and to
also afford the auditors time to complete their work.
According to LFA Statute, the Executive Committee has the sole right
to take decision on behalf of the football house outside the holding
of congress. Already, the Vice President for Operations of the LFA,
Mr. Siaka A. Sherif, has distant himself from the postponement of the
Congress.
The Veep/Operations recently told our correspondent that he did not
know why Congress was not convene as was scheduled.
The Congress which is the highest decision making body of the LFA has
been rescheduled for next weekend. It is expected to bring together
officials of the LFA, Clubs, Affiliate and Full Members,
Sub-Committee, Sub-Associations and former Executive Members of the
LFA.
