The Minister of Youth and Sports, Max Dennis has disclosed that the budget for the Liberia versus Niger match is before the Finance Ministry.

He made the disclosure yesterday in a television conversation with our Sports Desk. The Minister's statement was prompted by a report in our yesterday's edition that he would only seek the Chief Patron of Sports personal financing of the game.

Minister Dennis said after the LFA submitted the budget, his staff did the usual scrutiny and made the necessary adjustments before forwarding same to the Finance Ministry for disbursement.

"The Finance Minister is aware of the budget, as well as the Chief Patron of Sports," he added.

Quizzed whether he ever told any official of the LFA that he would only seek the President's personal funding for the game, Minister Dennis said he has not met any official telling them that. "All that I told my staff at the Ministry is that with the present economic situation in the country, I think the President will have to intervene personally in ensuring that funds needed for the game are secured," he said.

Concluding, the MYS outspoken boss said his Ministry knows exactly what is needed to be done in terms of securing funds for the Lone Star as far as scrutinizing the budget and submitting it to the Finance Ministry is concerned.
