The Ministry of Youth and Sports says five foreign-based players will be needed for the Lone Star first qualifying round match.

The Ministry said the decision to invite the five foreign players was based on the request of the head coach of the team Frank Jericho Nagbe.

The Public Affairs Director at the Ministry told Star Radio the players would come from, Europe, South Africa and Indonesia.

The players are Kelvin Sebwe of Greek Club Kavala, Francis Doe of Atromitos in Greece and Goalkeeper Louis Crayton of Swiss Champions FC Basel.

The technical staff has also invited Anthony Snorti Laffor of South African premier club Jomo Cosmos and Murphy Nagbe of Indonesian club Persikapbas.

The ministry did not state when the players would begin arriving in the country.

However, local football fans told Star Radio five players would not be enough.

The fans want the ministry to consider at least eight foreign-based players for the Equatorial Guinea game.

The fans that spoke at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium said the local players were not prepare to fill in the gap and are worried that the result may not go Liberia’s way.
