First division club prexy complains

 Horatio Bobby Willie
Tuesday, 08 August 2006

The president of a first division club says the financial burden on local clubs is growing by the day.

Mr. Patrick Garwo said the Liberia Football Association decentralization program was too costly for clubs.

Mr.Garwo said it cost the clubs a minimum of five thousand Liberian dollars to honor a league match outside Monrovia.

He said the revenue from games could not meet one-third of their expenditure.

Mr.Garwo who is also president of the first division club presidents association threaten they would boycott the next league season if the LFA do not provide subsidy for its decentralization program.

He wants the football association to use some of the administrative grant from FIFA for the support of local clubs.
