FIFA saves the day for the Female-U20 team

The World Football governing body, FIFA has agreed to give Liberia thirty-three thousand United States dollars.

The money is intended to fund Liberia’s National Under-20 Female soccer team to Algeria.

Liberia will face Algeria in the third round of the qualifying series for the World Female Under-20 championship.

The chairman on Women Football at the Liberia Football Association said FIFA’s assistance followed an appeal from LFA President Cllr. Izetta Wesley.

Mr. David Kortie said the money would cover tickets for a 25-man delegation.

The government of Liberia had planned to withdraw the team form the competition due to the lack of resources.
