Farko Wants Liberian as Lone Star Deputy Coach

Mr. Joseph H. Farkollie-Lofa County

The president of the Promoters of Liberian Athletes (PROLA) has called for the appointment of a Liberian as Deputy Coach to work with the newly appointed German head coach Antoine Hey.

Joseph H. Farkollie called on authorities of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS) and the Liberia Football Association (LFA) to consider one of the country's trained coaches to serve as deputy coach of the Lone Stars.

Mr. Farkollie made specific reference to Mr. Kadala Kromah and Wilfred Lander as possible choices for the Lone Star deputy post.

“I concur with the selection of the head coach, but they should select the rest of the technical staff members as soon as possible because we do not have sufficient time on our side,” Farkollie indicated.

He continued, “I have problem with the deputy coach being a foreigner because the problem been mobilization of players.”

According to Farkollie, Lone Star needs a Liberian as deputy insisted that there are trained coaches on the ground that are capable of assisting the German head coach.

Meanwhile, Lone Stars are expected to play their first match of the 2010 qualifiers against Gambia in May 2008.
