Trooped Lone Star First Training

The senior national team of Liberia Tuesday began its first
combined training session at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium
in Monrovia with 11 professional players in attendance and
scores of fans on hand as well.
Hungarian Coach Bertalan Bicskei called 15 professionals for
the duel on Sunday against Zimbabwe at the SKD Sport Complex
in Paynesville. The rest of the recalled players are
expected in today to join the combined session.
Francis Doe, Steve Mennoh, Gizi Dorbor and Dioh Williams are
expected in today. Coach Bicskei has to live with the late
arrival of the four players, three of whom are forwards.
Though Tuesday workout was rather a light, scores of
football fanatical fans jammed the stadium to catch a glance
of their ambassadors ahead of the Sunday encounter, the
opener in the qualifiers of the Africa Nations cup. Sure,
the momentum is building for the showdown.
The Zimbabweans with a provisional squad of 36 members are
expected in Friday alone with scores of fans. The match
commissioner, Abu Bakar Kaba, a Sierra Leonean comes in
today; the referees from Benin, headed by renowned Koffi
Codjia, will turn out tomorrow Thursday.
