Fans of the Yellow Boys, Invincible Eleven (IE) have announced that
they have taken over the club from its leadership, headed by Isaac
Nyenabo.
In a press release issued on August 8, 2005 and signed by the Chairman
of the IE Montserrado County Chapter, Mr. J. Napoleon Toquie, II, the
Yellow fans indicated that they were informing the general public that
the club is now under the Montserrado Chapter.
“Anybody who wants to do business with I.E. Majestic Sports
Association should go through the Montserrado Chapter as from today’s
date,” they stated in the release.
The decision by the fans to take over the Sunshine Yellow Boys was
further communicated to the Board of IE, led by Willard Russell.
They said, “We have complained to you and also called the
administration to several meetings which they have failed to attend
and have also failed to live to the expectation of we, the fans. Due
to their attitude, the association is almost dying out. This is why we
want to rescue the Association from dying out.”
The Montserrado Chapter noted in their communication that they do
agree that they would be responsible to pay the players of both the
football basketball teams.
They asked the Board to inform the IE administration of their action
as well as the Liberia Football Association (LFA) not to do any
business on behalf of the team with the Nyenabo-led leadership.
A member of the IE Montserrado Chapter, Alpha Mansaray revealed that
the IE Board would officially turn over the Yellow Boys to the fans on
Friday at the Lotus Restaurant on Capitol Hill. |
