Star Sports has received two credible communications inviting the
Liberia Football Association to Cairo, Egypt for a special meeting.
According to the communications, the local football house is being
invited to Egypt by FIFA to review its controversial 2009 statues.
The meeting according to the communications sent by FIFA Legal Counsel
Alexandre Leuba will take place from 25 February to 10 March of this
year.
The gathering will bring together all member associations under the
umbrella of the African football governing body.
And it will take place at the Headquarters of the Confederation of
African Football in the 6 October City.
LFA President Izetta Wesley along with her Secretary General Sam
Bedford and Legal Counel Theophuslus Gould are expected to attend the
meeting.
With this latest development it is not yet clear as to whether the 21
March congress of the LFA will take place as planned.
There has been huge public out cry regarding the faith of the statues
with some even alleging that the Izetta Wesley led administration
intends to push the much talked about political congress to July of
this year when the FIFA World Cup shall have taken place.
Interested candidates have begun calling meetings to express their
intentions for their positions of interest
