FIFA Dedicates ATS

Following several months of works at the Antoinette Tubman
Stadium, FIFA, along with a local construction company, the
Associated Energy System, dedicated the Stadium to the
Liberia Football Association at a colorful ceremony on
Saturday, December 3, 2011.
The US$400,000 FIFA goal project refurbished bathrooms,
dressing rooms, and floodlights among others.
FIFA Development Officer for West Africa, Sampon Kablan,
presented the keys to the president of the LFA having
received them from the construction company.
He thanked the LFA for the teamwork during the period of the
renovation and promised to help the LFA gain other FIFA goal
projects. For his part, LFA president Musa Bility thanked
FIFA for the project, which he said, has given the ATS a
modern look with the state-of –the –art floodlights.
He specifically thanked FIFA for making it possible for
Liberians to once again witness night games at the ATS. “For
many, many years, Liberians have been denied of seeing games
here at night due to the lack of floodlights.
We are happy that the light has brought added momentum to
our national league,” Mr. Bility stated. The contractors
then guarded a tour of the facilities at which time FIFA
Representative Kablan cut the ribbon to the powerhouse and
switched the powers on thereby commencing the night match
between Mighty Barrolle and Nimba United in continuation of
the president's cup.
The program was climaxed at the RJ Resort in Paynesville for
a dinner in honor of the FIFA Development Officer. The LFA
led by Bility also certificated him and presented him a
jersey of the Liberia national team
