FA Prexy, two VPs must resign - Gboyah

For failing to mend fences and quell the unabated wrangling of non-cooperation and misunderstanding amongst other backbiting vices which continue to keep the LFA retrogressing, the President of the police-owned Mighty Blue Angels Sports Association, Victor Gboyah, is calling for the resignation of LFA President Cllr. Sombo Izetta Wesley and her two principal Deputies.

In an interview with our Monrovia correspondent, Mr. Gboyah said the boycott of the LFA closing program by the Vice Presidents for Administration and Operations Pennoh Bestman, and Adolph Lawrence, clearly signals that disunity, non-cooperation and bickering still continue unabated at the LFA.

Many other football stakeholders and Executive committee members, some of whom include Geraldine Doe-Sherff, Idrissa Kaba, John Smythe, Musa Bility and Andy Quamie among others boycotted the LFA prestigious awards and closing ceremony held Monday, March 16 at the FA UN Drive Headquarters.

The 2nd division Blue Angels Chief benefactor termed the act as gross unwillingness on the part of the Football executives to adhere to a FIFA mandate resulting from the world governing body’s intervention into the state of unending inner imbroglio that has now engulfed the LFA for several years following the Kakata elections a few years ago.

According to Mr. Gboyah, no workable plan aimed at taking Liberian Football to internationally acceptable standards under the current Izetta Wesley leadership.

“We can not even imagine a day to come that VPO Adolph Lawrence and of late, VPA Pennoh Bestman and Madam Wesley will sit at one table and smoke peace pipe to let by-gone be by-gone”.

The Blue Angels Boss registered his frustration over the dysfunctional state of affairs at the Liberia Football Association when he attended and witnessed the poorly attended 2008 National league closing exercise.

Mr. Gboyah has meanwhile disclosed that the Inspector General of Police Col. Beatrice Browne, is exerting frantic efforts to ensure that registration formalities are concluded in time to confirm the Liberian Police Football team participation in the upcoming West African Police tournament which is expected to be hosted by Nigeria.
