Dulee: It’s good to return to AIK

.Liberian central midfielder Dulee Johnson has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with his former club AIK of Sweden. The contract takes effect from July 1 after one season with Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv.

“It was difficult but a good decision for my family. It’s good to return to Sweden and AIK. It’s one of the best clubs. I feel at home again. I hope to help AIK gain a respectable position on the league chart,” the Liberian international said in a statement to his personal website.

He concluded: “I believe I have come back with the help of God much more experienced and stronger than before. Yesterday is gone. Let’s put the past behind and look ahead. Such is life. We must endure to the end. I’m happy I have finally made a good decision.”

Fans of AIK have welcomed the news with joy. Most AIK fans said in their personal blogs that the team is regaining a valuable midfielder since Dulee left in August 2008.

The Liberian central midfielder Dulee Johnson has returned to AIK Solna after one year in Israel with Maccabi Tel Aviv. The 24-year-old box-to-box midfielder was sold for 400,000 euros and returns for just 140,000.

As a consequence of Johnson’s return, press reports in Sweden today suggest that AIK Solna’s Argentinean midfielder Jorge Ortiz could now leave the club with clubs from Germany and Holland interested.

AIK sporting director Djorn Wesstrom said: "I am not surprised, Ortiz has had a very good year and he is making progress all the time. There have been clubs here to watch him and we have received very good feedback."

On his return to AIK Solna, Johnson said: "I feel like I have returned home. It is going to be great fun playing for AIK again. It is Sweden’s best club."
 Fans Happy

The 24-year-old’s official email is flooded with felicitation messages from AIK fans mostly in Sweden and the US. “Welcome home Dulee”, an AIK fan said in an email right after the press conference to announce Dulee’s return on Sunday.

“Awesome to have you back in AIK,” Mikko said.

“Dulee I love you! I heard that you might return to AIK and I just wanted to say that that would make me really happy. You are my favorite player and I miss seeing you on Rasundas field. Mot SM-Guld tillsammans!” AIK fan Ville said.
