Maccabi Tel Aviv midfielder Dulee Johnson has
been praised by a section of the Israeli media for being in top
flight at the latter part of the season.
The 24-year-old has shown some dazzling
performances in his recent games that have impacted positively on
his team. During their last league game against Bnei Yehuda, his
charming moves nearly resulted in a personal goal for Maccabi.
DJ has so far scored a goal for Maccabi Tel
Aviv and has given impressive support and passes that resulted in
several goals for his club since moving from Sweden in summer 2008
to Israel.
Speaking to his website, Johnson said he is
happy to be showing signs of his Sweden maneuvers that won him
two-time best player of his former club AIK and African best in the
European country.
He said: “I’m happy but not satisfied yet.
There is more I want to do. This is my first season here and it was
more or less like a learning period for me to master the Israeli
system. I know the future will judge me. I thank God for keeping me
strong to maintain my focus and shape.”
Johnson said it is his wish to see Maccabi lift
the trophy. “My dream is to win the league for Maccabi. It might be
too late now but that is something I want to achieve while here in
Israel. I know we will be at a respectable position this year. I’m
happy to have won this year’s Toto Cup with them and my next target
is the league. Whether this season or next season I shall surely get
there. That is my dream for the team,” the Liberian international
said.
Meanwhile, Midfielder Dulee Johnson has
expressed delight that his effort led to a goal in a league game
that ended 2:1 in favor of his team Maccabi Tel Aviv against Bnei
Yehuda.
The Liberian international attempted a goal
which was foiled by the Yehuda goal keeper but Johnson’s team mate
Buzaglo took advantage of a rebound in the 15th minute to put
Maccabi in the lead.
Speaking to his website, Johnson said: “I am happy we won the game.
It’s great to climb up on the league table as it draws to a close.
It’s my wish to see Maccabi at a respectable position at the end of
the season. I’ll continue to give out my best. I thank God for
this.”
