Dulee Johnson Confident That Liberia Can Beat Zimbabwe

Date: 01-Sep-2010

Appearing in the Lone Star squad for the first time in two years, Dulee Johnson has announced that Liberia need to win against Zimbabwe.

The AIK Solna midfielder told Goal.com on Tuesday that he is delighted with the cream of players invited by coach Bertalan Bicskei for the crucial task against the Warriors.

“We must win and we will win, with the kind of players I see in the camp it’s obvious that we will snatch the maximum three points,” Johnson pointed out.

He admitted that it has been a long time since Liberians celebrated victory at home and so they are under pressure to pull off the victory on Sunday.

“Pressure is of course what we are facing right now and with focus we can defeat the nightmare that has engulfed the nation’s football sector,” Johnson said to Goal.com.

Dulee however recounted his disappointment during the last qualification campaign that saw the Lone Star missing up on the World Cup and the Nations Cup. He said it was distressing to watch other countries in the competitions while his country completely failed to make it to either of the events.

The Lone Star of Liberia will begin their 2012 qualification task against the Warriors of Zimbabwe on Sunday at the Samuel Kayon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville outside the nation’s capital Monrovia.

Already 11 of the 15 overseas players recalled by 66-year-old Hungarian tactician Bicskei have arrived in Monrovia.

The players have already got into serious training sessions conducted by coach BB and his staff.
