Dukuly Shines In Kenya

Former Mighty Barrolle sharp shooting winger Morris Dukuly
has told his new kenyan club Congo United, that he will do
more than what he did on his debut for the club on match day
15 of the Kenyan Premier League (KPL). The player who is
nicknamed Alvaro Recoba (one of Uraguay and Inter Milan
greatest players) for his strong left foot and precise
finishing became the fourth Liberian to feature in the
Kenyan top flight this season after making a wonderful debut
against lowly rated outfit Bandari in the final match of the
first phase.
The youngster who featured for the Liberia national U-17 and
U-20 before moving to Cameroon where he styled for top
flight side Panthere before having a stint in Equatorial
Guinea and now Kenya, according to a dispatch from the land
of the Harambe Stars, told the club fans "my first match in
the KPL was a wonderful experience. The league is a tough
one. It is very physical and one has to release the ball
quickly by doing less touches, the work rate too is
demanding. I am grateful to God that i played a very great
match in my first outing as the rating from the Coach says
it all. I just want to say i thank God for such a promising
performance. I have not done anything yet, and i promise to
work harder in combining with my teammates for us (Congo
United) to move up on the log in the second phase".
The starlet who had stints with then Third Division side
Black Star in Gardnersville, later moved to the now
disbanded Juventus Olympic and then Karn United before
moving on to LISCR and then Mighty Barrolle. In the match
with Bandari which was shown live on Supersports 9, the long
range specialist won a master card performance as he made
the left channel a fortress, terrorizing and outpacing his
marker before supplying cleverly measured crosses which his
side front runners could not bury as the day was just not
theirs.
Dukuly's side Congo United will however have to raise their
game in the second phase which starts shortly as they are at
14th spot, just a place above the bottom two in the 16 teams
KPL. But, so far the disappointment of the season is former
national U-17 and LPRC Oilers midfielder Abraham Cokie's AFC
Leopards who are surprisingly lingering at the 12th spot.
After the resignation of Belgian Coach Roger Bollen due to
what he called interference in technical matters by the
club's administration, the highly respected club continues
to go in the doldrums to the disbelief of many.
But, from a Liberian perspective, the major smile is that
Thika United, the club side of Mighty Barrolle clinical
forward Freeman Mulbah and Watanga FC robust rearguard
Dirkir Glay are at the seventh spot and look poised to be
amongst the top eight teams where they will earn more in
terms of cash as they will compete in the TOP 8 at the end
of the season.
Since the exploit of the now Vietnam based burly defender
Alex Karmo who became the first Liberian to style in the KPL
when he led Western Stima to a TOP 8 finish and then Julius
Weah showed case with AFC Leopards, Liberians have being
flooding in Kenya to have an opportunity of featuring in one
of Africa's most watched leagues, the KPL.
