Liberia’s Francis Doe scored his second goal of the season in Egypt’s
premier league over the weekend.
Grandpa Doe scored the second goal in his club Al Ahly 4-2 away
thrashing of El-Geish.
According to Ahly’s website, the Liberian striker scored in the 48th
minute after he received a pass in the 18 yard box and politely placed
the ball in the roof of the net.
The win has taken the Egyptian champions to the top of the table with
10 points from four games.
Elsewhere in Africa, Anthony Laffor scored his first goal of the
season for his South African Club Supersport United.
Laffor scored the equalizer in Supersport 1-1 draw with neighbors
Mamelodi Sundowns.
The club website said the Liberian striker scored from the penalty
spot in the 68th minute.
Laffor should have won the match for Supersport on 80 minutes but his
wonderful volley was parried over the crossbar by the Sundowns
goalkeeper.
The draw leaves the defending champions rooted at the 8th place on the
Premier Soccer league table.
