Doe gets 10 thousand dollars penalty

Written by Horatio Bobby Willie

Egyptian club El Ahli has fined Liberian striker Francis Doe ten thousand United States following his dismissal against Masri, the Cairo giants said on Thursday.

Doe received a straight card on 26 minutes after appearing to head-butt Masri midfielder Ashour Al-Adham in Wednesday's Egyptian Premier League clash.

Despite their numerical disadvantage, Ahli managed to take the lead through an Ahmed Hassan goal but Masri's Ahmed Osman secured a share of spoils with 16 minutes remaining.

Coach Hossam Al-Badri insisted any player who will get booked or sent off will be heavily fined.

Ahli said in a statement on their official website that Francis Doe will pay the fine from his wages but did not announce any other action.

Coach Al-Badri said the absence of any player affects the team, and this was clear against Masri.

Doe has been Al-Badri's preferred choice upfront since joining Ahli in the close season after being released by American outfit DC United.

The 23-year-old scored two goals in four league appearances for the Red Devils
