March 22, 2006

Just five days after the General Assembly of the Liberia Football Association (LFA), The Analyst Sports Desk has gathered that the newly elected Vice President for Operations, former St. Anthony President, and Adoulf Lawrence is planning to resign his post.

Sources close to the Mr. Lawrence said his planned action to resign the new post is due to the defeat of the former Vice President of the LFA Siaka Sheriff in the LFA elections.

The sources quoted the former Anthony boss as saying that the decision by the majority is not always the right one, adding that Mr. Siaka Sheriff was the right man for the local football house top position.

He is said to have argued that the former Vice President had a clear plan to promote and vision to move Liberian football forward.

When the Football Association Vice President for Operations was contacted on the issue, he neither denied nor confirmed the issue.

But there are reports that former Liberia Football Association Vice President Siaka Sheriff has called the newly elected Vice President for Operations Adoulf Lawrence not to resign, adding that they are all winners in line with FIFA ethics of fair-play.

He said the quest for football development is high among the youth in the Country, and sending his resignation would be unhealthy for the good of the game.

At the same time, many Liberians have joined the former Football Association VPA to call on the newly elected President for Operations Adoulf Lawrence to reconsider his decision to resign the position for the good of football development in the country.
