Dioh Williams out of action

Monday, 16 February 2009

Liberian international striker Dioh Williams has been ruled out of action for the rest of the season.

According to a Danish based football website, Dioh Williams suffered Achilles tendon rapture and had to undergo a surgery.

The Liberian, who until the injury was the top scorer for his club AGF Aarhus, was released from hospital 10 days ago.

The website quoted the doctors who carried out the surgery as saying that Dioh Williams was lucky and would be able to play again.

There were thoughts in Denmark that the injury would end his career but the doctors rubbished the reports and said he is not in danger.

AGF Aarhus did not sing a replacement for their top scorer due to the medical report from the medical team.

The club is hoping Dioh Williams is fit again by the end of the season so that they could peruse their UEFA Cup dream next season.

AGF Aarhus is currently at the fifth position on the Danish SAS Ligean table.

Dioh Williams has also been an impressive performer for the national team scoring two goals in the four games he played during the just ended qualifier.
