Debbah Raises Lone
Star Spirit
-As He Returns To The Team

Momentum is said
to be building within the national soccer team, the Lone
Star, as they
prepare for
the crucial international assignment with the Eagles of Mali
in the 2004 World Cup qualifying rounds.
The momentum comes with just ten more days for the team’s
crucial match as players of the team were said to be in high
spirit during the practice session which was led by
Liberia’s most celebrated star, James Salinsa Debbah, who
already consented to play for the team on June 6.
According to head coach Kadala Kromah ,Debbah was in full
control of the team’s training session yesterday at the
Antoinette Tubman Stadium.
Debbah who attached serious attention to
yesterday’s practice told players to be focused during these
crucial qualifying rounds of the nation and the World Cup in
order to make a significant impact at the two competitions.
Even though the Liberian most celebrated star did not
comment on his return to the National Team because according
to him he was focusing on building himself and the other
players ahead of the June 6 match.
It was clear that Debbah’s recent statement at the
Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) during the celebration of
FIFA 100 years that the FA should rally around the old
players like George Oppong Weah and his regular practice
session with the team is an indication that he will be part
of the June 6 match at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex
in Paynesville City.
At the same time Lone Star’s Technical Director, Kadala
Kromah, has welcome the return of Debbah to the team and
added that it has bring some high spirit within the players
especially the home-base as well as building the team
striking force.
He said with the coming in of Debbah and others, he
believed that his team can pull a victory on June 6 at the
SKD Sports Complex.
He also disclosed that Sunday Sieh, Isaiah Benson, Prince
Daye, Oliver Makor, Jimmy Dixon, Zizi Roberts, Dioh Williams
and Alvin Kieh had been invited to form part of the team.
With the coming of the professionals, combined with some
of the local-based players like Varmah Kpoto, Solomon Grant,
Isaac Tondo, Takpo Sonkarley, and Fredrick Vah amongst
others he is certain that Liberians will smile on June 6 in
Monrovia. |
