Davis Commends Nat'l Female U-20

April 4, 2006
BAHLODI Liberia international coordinator for youth and sports have
commended the national female U-20 for their historic 3-2 victory
against their Algerian counterparts in the second round first leg
match of the FIFA women U-20 preliminaries to see who goes to Russia
for the finals.
In a chat with the Analyst, Steve B. Davis hinted that the success of
the team is an indication that when support is been prioritized a lot
more will come out of the team.
The resourceful coordinator noted that there is a serious need to
support not only the female national team but the various national
teams as well in order to make Liberia a formidable force on the
continent and the world as a whole.
He then called on everyone to see the need in supporting the female
national team in its quest to reign supreme in youth football.
It can be recalled that the female national U-20 received a major
boost when Mr. Davis made a huge donation of sporting items to the
team through the Liberia football Association (LFA). The donation
which was made on 14 March was estimated at over two hundred thousand
dollars.
The items which included jerseys, boots, sneakers, gears and other
major materials were given the team by the highly rated South African
company BAHLODI which is said to be a major branch to the DITIRO Media
Sport Management and communication (DMSMC), which signed a lucrative
sponsorship deal with the LFA a couple of months ago. BAHLODI is a
reputable company under the helmsmanship of the passionate footballer
lover Azzi Kara. Mr. Davis heaped praises on Mr. Kara as his effort
has paid dividend as evidence of the team's milestone achievement in
Algeria, and intimated that with the gesture of BAHLODI there is light
at the end of the tunnel for Liberian sports.
Mr. Kara is the owner of South African first division outfit Mabopane
Young Msters which has in its fore the Liberian duo of the inventive
James Koko Lomell and the explosive Abu Partee Sando. Though the duo
are not yet registered after being unable to meet the transfer
deadline the team is however making headways in the Mvela Golden
league, and after their 5-0 batching of fellow first division side
Charlton in the ABSA cup they are bracing themselves to meet
premiership leaders Mamelodi Sundowns who are nick named the
Brazilians.
Meanwhile, many have hailed BAHLODI for their keen interest in
developing Liberian football. Jerry Sarnor and Albert Cummings who are
rated as pundits in the local game describe the company's gesture as a
good omen, and are hoping their initial contribution should not be the
only one, but called on it to continue assisting the various national
teams. Another Analyst named Reginald Moore who is president of the
Sport Promoters Association based on Somalia drive lamented that they
will be counting on the company BAHLODI to assist the team in its
second leg match against Algeria in Monrovia on 16, April as the team
is already in buoyant mood for the epic second leg clash.
Observers believe that the company should be hailed for their support
to the team, as the donation served as an impetus to the female squad
which led to them conquering their Algerian opponents.
Further donations to the LFA they noted would mean a whole lot to the
various teams, and could break the jinx of no support in Liberian
football.
"BAHLODI is a true friend to Liberia, and as such they should be
commended for their philanthropic role in promoting Liberian
football", they concluded.
