Swedish Coaches Under Attack

As you may know by now two Swedish coaches in Sven Sjunnesson and Bjorn Peters are interested in taking the helm of the Liberia national team, the Lone Star. The pair who recently visited the country through the instrumentality of the executive director of the Sports Develop Underprivileged (SDU) where they met with relevant stakeholders in putting forth a package to develop grassroots football, got the backing of many Lone Star followers who believe the two tacticians are the best in terms of transforming the country's football and that there is a need the Liberia Football Association (LFA) terminate the contract of the underachieving Italian Roberto Landi whose coming to the helm of the team was made possible by his friend Musa Shannon, the Vice President of Administration of the LFA, something many describe as conflict of interest.

But, while the two coaches may be hoping to take over the Lone Star, some may have a contrary view as it relates to their competence and achievement with the latest being Tore Eliasson, manager and shareholder of one of Liberia's most organized club's Monrovia FC, formerly Football Club Aziz Kara (FC AK). The FC AK boss says the two coaches are jokesters who are not high level and that he has a top rated coach who can help Liberia for something little in terms of cash than what Shannon's close friend Landi is getting as salary currently.

In a dispatch from Sweden, Mr. Eliasson noted: "Those two Swedish Coaches (Sven and Bjorn) are not at a high level and are just hunting for gold. They are two joksters. I have a higher coaching level than the two of them, but i think i cannot, or is not fit to be coach of a national team. If Liberia wants professional coaches i can provide them. I have a candidate for the Lone Star job. He is from the SUPERETTAN, the top flight of football in Sweden. He is willing to live in Liberia, receive as salary something less than what Landi is receiving and will be willing and helpful to the Liberian national team's 2014 World Cup elimination, preliminaries or qualifiers, but those two Coaches are joksters who are low level and cannot help Liberia".

With this latest assertion, connoisseurs believe it is a good thing for the national team as many are interested in the job, but for this latest information where a top notched coach from the top fligh of Swedish football is interested, courtesy of information from someone from Sweden and now a stakeholder in Liberian football, observers say there are interesting days ahead.

Cogent report have it that the lowly rated Lone Star Italian Coach Roberto Landi earns on a monthly basis Fifteen United States Dollars (US$ 15,000.00), and the news that Mr. Eliasson has indicated that his candidate is willing to earn half of such amount is something interesting and could be a way forward for the Lone Star.

What would be the reaction from Coaches Sven and Bjorn is what remains to be seen. Besides, with this site being the best in terms of adequately informing our millions of readers worldwide of Liberian football, will not segregate as it relates to receiving information from people, except that such information will be verified.
We will as well make frantic efforts to get the Cvs of all the three coaches involved and other coaches that may express interest in handling the Lone Star.
