Coach Togba:
Whittmore is Deadly
The deputy coach of Premiership runners-up LPRC Oilers says the team's
top scorer Alex Whittmore is quite a deadly striker and is certainly
amongst the best Liberian strikers at home and abroad.
Speaking to liberiansoccer.com, the experienced tactician, coach Lucretius
Togba who has coached the national female U-23 for more that three
years and made in-roads with the Homeless World Cup squad in South
Africa, Denmark and Australia from 2007-2009 indicated that Whittmore
is is class striker who knows where the net is. "Whittmore is a very
deadly striker.
He knows how to slip off his marker. He has good pace, power,
precision, shows composure in the box and is clinical in his
finishing", the former senior national team goalkeeper said of the
Oilers top scorer who netted in 14 goals for his club.
Whittmore who had arrived from Asia when the league was in its sixth
round, combined with the rest of his teammate as he unleashed terror
on his opponents
The nine capped Liberian international striker is said to have his
sight on top football overseas and coach Togba believes the time is
ripe for him. "He need to move overseas. He can do wonders with a club
there once he has the opportunity", the coach asserted.
