China To Renovate SKD

The Government of Liberia has signed a supplementary construction contract with the People’s Republic of China.

It is for the renovation and rehabilitation of the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville.

The contract was signed few days ago at the Chinese Embassy near Monrovia. The supplementary contract has to do with the issue of settlement that was left unresolved in the original construction contract.

The Sports Ministry has described the signing of the settlements issue as a milestone in the completion of the renovation project. Three line ministries signed on behalf of the Government of Liberia. The ministries are Finance, Public Works and the Sports Ministry. The Justice Ministry attested the document.

A Chinese firm, the Human Construction Engineering Group Corporation signed on behalf of the People’s Republic of China.
The total cost of the project is put at 7million, 6hundred-17 thousand, 8hundred- 96 United States Dollars. The original contract was signed in July 2004.
