There was chaos at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium
(ATS) in Monrovia when the seminal final match in the Liberia Football
Association (LFA) 2009 knockout involving Mighty Barrolle and LPRC
Oilers failed to end when authorities of Mighty Barrolle wrote the LFA
that their team was exhausted.
Both teams played in the semifinal of the
knockout on Friday, but the match could not end due to poor visibility
and was later scheduled to be played on Saturday, October 10, 2009 in
the morning hours.
Mighty Barrolle entered the stadium with seven
players during the extra 30 minutes, but two dropped and could not
continue the match with six players remaining on the field.
Referee Sam Kortie off the match and made his
report to the local football house.
Both fans created some disorder, but Police later
calmed the situation.
The LFA 2009 knockout final will not be played on
Sunday as was scheduled due to the chaos and the LFA will come out
with final judgment.
