 Buston Browne Moves To Vietnam

By Bruce Wiah – Liberiansoccer Beat Reporter – brucewiah@liberiansoccer.com

One of Liberia’s emerging and bursting strikers, Buston Brown, has joined the ranks of Cong Viettel in the Vietnamese Premier League following a move from Perseman Monakwari of Indonesia where he teamed up with former Liberia and Arsenal FC’s ace, Christopher Wreh

Liberiansoccer that has been on the track down of Liberian exploits scattered across the football world has gathered that the forceful and dire young goal poacher penned a two-year deal, which is subject to renewal based on his performance.

Buston Browne told Liberiansoccer in an exclusive interview that his move from Indonesia to Vietnam comes as a surprise. He said he didn’t know scouts in that part of the world have been following his work and is grateful for the offer promising to remain in top form.

He in rather relaxed and confident mood, Buston noted that Vietnamese football is springing up very well and couldn’t believe that the game is being played at such a professional level and vouched that there is no small country in the world again in relation to football.

Buston, who made his Lone Star debut in 2003 against Sylli Nationale of Guinea in Accra in the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, has also played in Oman for Sohar Sport Club where he made name for himself two years ago.

As Liberia prepares for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ and the Africa Cup of Nations – Angola 2010 qualifiers, pundits are calling for the inclusion of more strikers to give the Lone Star technical team several options to choose from.

Goal-scoring had been a major impediment for the Lone Star and the goal drought Liberia encountered in the last Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers was the main reason the Lone Star missed Ghana 2008.

The injection of more than a few lively strikers in the team will add to the impetus of Liberia striking department and abet our chances as far as qualifying  for the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ and the Africa Cup of Nations – Angola 2010 are concerned.

Liberiansoccer will bring you the full text of the interview with Buston Browne is subsequent publication.
