Bong wins county meet

Bong County has emerged as winner in the football version of the National County meet for the first time in more then four decades.

Bong achieved the fete after denying defending Champions Rivercess County a record 2nd title.

Bong beat Rivercess 4-3 in post-match penalty after regular playing time and extra time ended in a goalless draw.

The match that took place at the SKD Sports Complex in Paynesville was said to be an electrifying showpiece as both teams were at their very best.

Montserrado won the 3rd place match after dragging Grand Gedeh 3-1 also on Sunday.

In basketball, Sinoe County was crowned as champions.

Sinoe scored a narrow 57 to 56 points over Grand Cape Mount County to lift the crown.

The game was filled with thrills, exciting moments and perfect coordination.
